Program Director of Family Medicine Residency

Mount Sinai South Nassau, part of the Mount Sinai Health System, is seeking a Family Physician Residency Program Director in Long Island, NY. This role offers the opportunity to lead an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine Residency training program while maintaining a clinical practice in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical and leadership skills, a proven track record of academic excellence, and knowledge of ACGME policies and program requirements.

• ACGME accredited Family Medicine Residency program
• Clinical practice includes inpatient and outpatient care of adults and children, as well as prenatal care
• Intrapartum care and deliveries are not required, but preferred

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of maintaining ACGME standards and oversee programmatic and curriculum development
• Communicate the mission of the residency throughout the hospital and community
• Organize and implement residency recruitment strategies
• Serve as faculty for the ACGME Family Medicine Residency Program
• Maintain clinical practice including inpatient and outpatient care of adults and children, as well as prenatal care
• Ensure a safe learning environment that promotes wellness
• Conduct annual program reviews to assess educational quality and resource utilization
• Develop and implement program policies compatible with accreditation and institutional requirements

Compensation

• Compensation range from $300,000 to $300,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified in Family Medicine
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Graduate Medical Education
• Maintains up-to-date credentials including CV, License, DEA, CDS, Board Certification, and hospital admitting privileges
• Maintains CME credit hours as required for Board Certification and/or hospital staff privileges
• Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, mentoring, and teaching skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrates a track record of scholarly activity, including publications and presentations
