Program Director (Mental Disabilities‑Safety)
Position located at Salinas Valley State Prison – Psychiatric Inpatient Program in Soledad, Monterey County, California.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Clinical Administrator, the Program Director is the clinical director and shall have overall responsibility for the management of the psychiatrist/psychologist services for the Salinas Valley – Psychiatric Inpatient Program.
- Provide general direction to professional and nonprofessional staff.
- Be responsible for the quality of clinical services performed.
- Develop, implement, review, and maintain policies and procedures for the psychiatrist/psychologist and mental health treatment program at SV‑PIP in consultation with other mental health professionals.
- Serve as the chief clinical function overseeing all mental health staff and services.
Compensation and Benefits
As of July 1, 2025, all full-time employees are subject to a 3% base salary reduction and 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Permanent intermittent employees are similarly impacted. In addition, eligible employees may receive a $10,000 one‑time recruitment and retention stipend (if employed with CCHCS for six months or more) and a monthly recruitment and retention differential during the first year totaling $20,000 (subject to eligibility).
CDCR/CCHCS employees may be eligible for a $5,000 referral bonus provided they remain employed for 90 days.
