PROGRAM DIRECTOR II

General Responsibilities

The Program Director II will lead operational support for clinical research and training programs in the Program for Translational Pharmacogenomics within the Department of Neurology, as well as support genomic medicine initiatives on behalf of the Associate Dean for Genomic Medicine in the Heersink School of Medicine. Primary responsibilities include: training program direction, annual scientific meetings, executive support, and monthly webinars.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Manages the executive leadership calendar, prioritizes meeting requests, coordinates complex travel arrangements, and prepares agendas/materials for executive committee meetings.
  2. Assists with the preparation of presentations, reports, and executive summaries by translating complex scientific discoveries into accessible narratives and engaging with diverse genomic medicine stakeholders at the school and institutional levels.
  3. Administers the daily operations of clinical training programs including the Genomic Medicine T32, serving as the primary point of contact for trainees, faculty, and stakeholders.
  4. Manages trainee interviews, tracking, appointments, onboarding, progress reporting, and assists with submission of annual reports to sponsor and other stakeholders.
  5. Develops and oversees the genomic medicine webinar series, including speaker engagement and logistics, scheduling, technical support, and post-event content distribution.
  6. Designs and deploys stakeholder surveys to measure program engagement, evaluate webinar success, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  7. Leads end-to-end logistics for the annual genomic medicine meeting or scientific symposia, including vendor coordination, registration management, speaker selection and travel arrangements, and budget administration.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Pay Range

$60,835 – $98,855

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and distill complex scientific concepts in genetics or genomics into accessible language.
  • Expert proficiency in MS Office products as well as Adobe, Tableau, Oracle, and file-sharing platforms such as Box.
  • Proficiency in virtual meeting tools (e.g., Zoom, Webex) and Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace for calendar/travel management.
  • Exceptional organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to collaborate with multi-disciplinary medical teams.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-operational-tempo environment.
