Job Location: ALM-Huntsville Al Corps - Huntsville, AL 35810, Job Category: Social Services, This postion is responsible for:

Plans, directs, coordinates, and monitors the day-to-day operations of a Corps Social Service Program such as Transitional Living, Homeless Services, Emergency Services, Corps Salvage ad Rehabilitation Center; develops, implements, and evaluates program operations and services; supervises all program staff and ensures work is in compliance with established policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations; researches and prepares grant proposals and secures program funding; prepares and monitors program expenditures in compliance with program budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises and monitors the day-to-day activities of the program including shelter housing, meal preparation, life skill classes, drug and alcohol rehabilitation recovery classes, financial assistance; ensures that operations run smoothly and in compliance with established procedures.
• Supervises program staff responsible for providing social services and program services; instructs and trains employees in the proper methods and procedures for conducting work; monitors work in process and upon completion for compliance with established program policies and procedures; conducts performance evaluations
• Supervises and monitors the daily activities of the kitchen staff including inventory control, menu preparation and approval, and food bank purchases; monitors all food orders to ensure proper rotation and usage of current inventory and budget limits
• Maintains awareness of local, state and federal regulations governing program operations and ensures compliance to the same including health, safety, and licensing regulations
• Coordinates and monitors the maintenance of program facilities; ensures that all buildings are properly cleaned, maintained, and secured; coordinates needed repairs in a timely manner
• Researchesand prepares grant proposals and cultivates funding sources; monitors program funds and expenditures ensuring compliance with program budget
• Builds and maintains effective working relationships with community agencies in order to maintain awareness of resources and make appropriate referrals

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Ability to meet attendance requirements
• Ability to read, write and communicate the English language
• Ability to perform public speaking
• Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time
• Work requires performance of duties in social services environment where exposure to communicable and infectious diseases are possible

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, Masters preferred
• and
• four years progressively responsible experience administering and developing social service programs,
• or
• any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
