Program Director, Advocacy & Intensive Mentoring (AIM)

Program Supervisor - AIMThe Program Director - AIM is responsible for leadership and day-to-day operations of the AIM Program in Brooklyn's East New York neighborhood. AIM is an intensive mentoring and advocacy program serving adolescents between the ages of 13 and 18 who are on juvenile probation or facing institutional placement as a result of a Family Court disposition.Title: Program Supervisor - AIMReports to: Vice President, Justice InitiativesLocation: 692 Blake Ave, Brooklyn, NY, 11207Hours: 35 Hours/Week; ExemptSalary: $73,000 - $83,000Additional Compensation: $1,000 sign-on bonus paid in first payroll and $2,000 retention bonus paid out after first year of employmentMajor Duties:Supervise implementation of AIM Program consistent with contractual mandates, standards and procedures set by GSS and Department of Probation (DOP)Create opportunities for participants to maximize their potential through engaging programming, high expectations, and quality servicesEnsure program utilization meets contractual obligationsRecruit, screen and hire culturally appropriate advocate/mentorsEnsure that all advocate/mentors receive required SBC training, as well as GSS required trainingsCoordinate DOP technical assistanceConduct assessment and create Individualized Service Plans in conjunction with advocate/mentors, mentees and family membersProvide supervision and coaching to advocate/ mentors; review all case notesLead case conferences & staff meetingsDevelop on-call scheduleServe as liaison with DOP, having at minimum weekly contact with Probation OfficersImplement and integrate the principles and procedures of Solution Based Casework: assessment, family and individual level outcomes, action plans and documentation and celebration.Facilitate case consultation and offer support and guidance to ensure staff are adhering to the tenets of SBC.Integrate the practices of SBC into every supervisory sessionParticipate in continued SBC training, coaching and the SBC certification process.Oversee community outreachEnsure proper staff usage of internal and external databasesMonitor and manage program budgetDevelop, track and report program milestones, outputs and outcomes and ensure timely reporting to DOPDevelop and implement processes that ensure integration of participant feedback in program planningParticipate in agency work groups and committees.Represent Good Shepherd Services at relevant external meetings.Complete and provide narrative and statistical reports to Good Shepherd administrative departments and public funders as needed.Qualifications:LMSW Required.5 years of Supervisory Experience required.Experience and comfort working with court-involved young adultsFamiliarity with East New York Community and the challenges of young adults living thereSolid group work skills, familiarity with cognitive-behavioral interventions, and evidence-based practiceAbility to work evenings and some weekendsProficiency using word processing, spreadsheet and databasesMust have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or youth development perspective
