Specialist of Program Cost Controls (P2)The Operations and Supply Chain (OSC) Finance Organization has an immediate need for a Specialist of Program Cost Controls (P2) supporting the Naval Standard Missile Systems (NSMS) portfolio in the Naval Power Strategic Business Unit (SBU) and will work closely with the Business Office and the Program Management Office across multiple contracts.As a member of the OSC Finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing operations and supply chain financials. Scope of work includes weekly and monthly variance reporting, Estimate at Complete (EAC) Development, and weekly analysis of cost runs with direct support to both Control Account Managers (CAMs) and the Program Manager.This is an exciting opportunity to develop a strong fundamental understanding of the operations and supply chain environment, while also working closely with the Program Finance office to ensure financial targets are achieved. The ability to be self-sufficient as well as operating in a team environment, supporting both the functional organizations as well as ensuring program financial commitments are met will be a fundamental success in this role.
Business management covers a wide set of requirements, and successful candidate will show flexibility in job abilities and strong communication skills.Signing bonus is available, provided final candidate meets eligibility requirements.What You Will DoSupport the creation of Estimates at Complete (EAC) on a quarterly basis including costs, risks and opportunities at the program/product line levelProvide cost, schedule and funding planning, reporting, monitoring, and analysis support to OSC leaders and management using standard company tools and processesPrepare program financial forecasts, monitor actual costs, and explain variances to plans and forecastsManage cost accumulation methods on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basisProvide cost reduction project support and leadership based on manufacturing and functional expertise and experiencesSupport the preparation of cost estimates for new business proposals and assist Estimating and Program Analysts in developing rationale for basis of estimatesSupport factory and program activities in the business management role including being a key participant in all organizational decisionsAssist in the development and streamlining of reports, EAC management, and special projects to drive internal efficienciesCreate and maintain the control account structure within a manufacturing-based finance environmentQualifications You Must HaveTypically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field.Experience in an independent role tasked to develop, update, and status financial and performance metrics and analysis driven reportsExperience in the use of Microsoft Operating Systems and all Microsoft 365 Office tools, with particular emphasis on Microsoft ExcelExperience in production or similar schedule driven environment within a profit driven business based on practical experience. Ability to discuss Profit and Loss (P&L) relationships from contracts to cost analysisAn active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
