Job SummaryThe Program Coordinator/Instructor of the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, leadership, supervision, and administrative duties related to the PTA Program, as well as providing instruction for students enrolled in the Physical Therapy Assistant program. This position provides the expertise and knowledge necessary to support institutional curriculum and program objectives while ensuring compliance with accreditation, licensure, and college requirements. Assigned classes may occur during the day, evening, and/or online, with varying teaching locations including on-campus and dual enrollment sites as applicable.

This is a full-time position that reports to LSCPA's Allied Health Department.Duties/ResponsibilitiesProvide quality instructionServe as Program Coordinator for the PTA program, providing leadership and administrative oversight in accordance with CAPTE standardsParticipate in college tasks, which includes but is not limited to, advising, recruiting, and tutoringServe on departmental and college committees, perform community services, and participate in continuing educational and/or professional development opportunitiesExhibit commitment and involvement in the development, implementation, and assessment of curriculum based on program, department and college goals and objectivesAttend faculty meetingsMaintain current knowledge, expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility along with broader higher education matters and trendsRespond to students, faculty and staff in a timely and professional mannerOccasional travel to various campus and/or conference, seminar locationsParticipate in activities required to maintain program and college accreditation standardsComply with campus policies and proceduresOther related duties, as assignedMinimum/Preferred QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or universityCurrent, unencumbered Texas license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) or Physical Therapist (PT)Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience as a PTA and/or PT, consistent with CAPTE requirementsMinimum of two (2) years of instructional experience in physical therapyAmerican Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) CertificationWork independently in the classroom, laboratory, and administrative settings.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPointPossess great time management and communication skillsValid driver's licensePreferred Qualifications:Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or universityPrior experience serving as a program coordinator, lead faculty, or in another academic leadership positionExperience with accreditation, assessment, and program evaluation processesExperience working in higher educationSupplemental InformationPhysical Requirements: Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials up to 25 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure effective instruction and safe supervision of students in classroom and laboratory settings.
