The office provides critical professional support within the areas of exploration, preparation, and application to health and allied health programs. The HPRC office focuses on individualized support plans for each student that guide their academic and professional journey during and after their time at Montana State University. HPRC is also home to the post-bacc pre-medical certificate program for students who are career changers and require a substantial amount of coursework to fulfill pre-requisites for their graduate school applications.Duties and Responsibilities - The Student Success Coordinator is required to provide a high level of administrative support, customer service, and technical support to Health Professions Advising. The Student Success Coordinator will enhance the quality and effectiveness of undergraduate, post-bacc, and graduate student pre-professional support, services and experiences with high level advising and technical support to students, faculty, and staff. Responds and works with campus departments to resolve academic issues. Maintains student electronic files, keeping up-to-date with university procedures, interpreting university academic policy and providing academic advice to faculty and students. Other related office duties may be assigned.Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with experience working with undergraduate college students in an academic or student support setting, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience working with academic curricula, degree requirements, policies and procedures in a higher education setting. Progressively responsible experience providing customer service in an office environment or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Demonstrated excellent customer service and written and verbal communication skills to serve constituents from all backgrounds. Demonstrated competence organizing and prioritizing multiple work assignments with a high degree of accuracy and close attention to detail, while meeting deadlines, and exercising adaptability to changing priorities in a busy office setting with constant interruptions. Demonstrated competence using personal computers and software, such as word processing, spreadsheets, electronic calendars, and e-mail. Microsoft Office Suite preferred.Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills - Master's degree.
Experience working as an undergraduate academic advisor or student success coordinator. General knowledge of higher ed. curricula, policies and procedures.
Experience working with enrollment and degree auditing software, such as DegreeWorks, CatCourse, Banner, MyInfo and/or relational database. Demonstrated experience maintaining and updating websites.
Experience composing, editing, and distributing newsletters.The Successful Candidate Will - Possess strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm to work with and guide students as they discover and attain their academic and life goals.
