As an HVAC Program Coordinator, you'll lead both classroom instruction and program operations while mentoring instructors and helping students build the skills needed for successful careers in the HVAC industry.We're looking for HVAC professionals who can lead by example, inspire others, and bring real-world industry experience into an educational environment.What You'll Be DoingAs an HVAC Program Coordinator, you'll oversee instructional quality, support faculty development, and help ensure students receive the training and guidance necessary to succeed in the field.You will:Teach HVAC courses and provide hands-on training in classroom and lab settings (minimum 20 teaching hours per week)Mentor, support, and develop instructors to ensure high-quality instructional deliveryMonitor student progress and provide guidance to help students achieve academic and career goalsAdapt instructional approaches to meet the needs of students with varying experience and skill levelsManage program operations including scheduling, inventory, equipment, and classroom resourcesCollaborate with faculty and administration to maintain curriculum quality and student outcomesShare real-world HVAC knowledge, safety practices, troubleshooting techniques, and industry best practicesHelp prepare students for licensing, certification, and employment opportunitiesParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives and professional development activitiesMinimum RequirementsOil Burner Certificate or Refrigeration License (or willing to obtain in 90 days)Minimum 3 years of recent experience as a licensed HVAC Technician or similar role (apprenticeship experience not included)Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, and industry standardsAbility to lead, mentor, and support faculty and studentsStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsBasic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookPreferred Qualifications3 years of classroom teaching experience at the post-secondary level, not required.3 years of leadership, supervisory, or management experienceExperience developing training programs, mentoring employees, or leading teamsPassion for workforce development and student successWhy This Role?Combine teaching, leadership, and technical expertise in one rewarding positionHelp shape the next generation of HVAC professionalsLead a program that directly impacts student career successWork in a stable, professional environment focused on education and workforce developmentContinue building your HVAC career while expanding your leadership and management experienceAbout our company:Porter and Chester Institute, a trade school in Connecticut and Massachusetts for 75 years, adheres to one basic vision: to educate and train our students to the level that will make them competent employees.
