Construction Trades Program CoordinatorUnder general supervision of the assigned administrator in the Workforce and Continuing Education department, this position is responsible for providing and promoting programs for construction trades and the administration and support of these programs in accordance with college policy and state law. This position includes a signing bonus of $6,000.Coordinate or teach classes at various locations, including local high schools, Avery Learning Center, and Yancey Learning CenterInterview and select part-time instructors for various trade classesSupervise Construction Trades instructors as assigned by the area supervisorAssist instructors with course needsSet up and register classesOversee the development and/or implementation of course materialParticipates in course development and course revision processes for the departmentWork and build partnerships with local trade organizations to increase apprenticeship and work based learning opportunitiesVisit classes in accordance with the Continuing Education Internal Audit PlanEnsure compliance with NCCCER, NCCCS, SACSCOC, and college policiesFurnishes all data and reports accurately according to deadlines set by the Instructional Services Division and the Academic CalendarAttends faculty and unit meetings, and workshops as scheduledActively participates in the employee evaluation processNotifies the direct supervisor of any absences or alterations in the class schedule in advance and in writing. Provides all required program documentation to the area supervisor and the Institutional Effectiveness departmentManage the departmental budget to meet the needs of the program and recommend purchases through effective planning to keep the program up-to-dateOther duties as assignedEducation: Associate degree (AAS) or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
