Program Coordinator, ARCHES BrownsvilleReports To: Vice President of Justice InitiativesLocation: 1709 St. Mark's Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11233Hours: 35 Hours/Week; ExemptSalary: $55,000-$61,000 / YearJOB SUMMARY:The Program Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the ARCHES Brownsville site. ARCHES is an innovative, curriculum-based group mentoring intervention that helps young adults between the ages of 16-24 and on probation transform attitudes and behaviors that have led to criminal activity.Major Duties:Supervise implementation of Arches Program consistent with contractual mandates, standards and procedures set by GSS and Department of Probation (DOP)Create opportunities for participants to maximize their potential through engaging programming, high expectations, and quality servicesDevelop and implement processes that ensure integration of participant feedback in program planningRecruit, screen, hire and supervise Mentors.Ensure program utilization meets contractual goalsCoordinate DOP technical assistanceEnsure that staff participate in all required DOP meetingsEnsure that mentoring groups maintain proper mentor/young adult ratios and fidelity to the Arches modelSchedule weekly mentoring groups and individual one-on-one sessions with menteesLead case conferences & staff meetingsDevelop on-call scheduleServe as liaison with DOP, having at minimum weekly contact with Probation OfficersComplete and provide narrative and statistical reports to Good Shepherd administrative departments and public funders as needed.Monitor and manage program budgetEnsure proper staff usage of internal and external databasesParticipate in agency work groups and committees.Represent Good Shepherd Services at relevant external meetings.Qualifications:BA/BS in related field preferred.Prior supervisory experienceSolid understanding of youth development principals and education.Experience and comfort working with court-involved young adultsAbility to work from a strength-based, non- judgmental approachSolid group work skills, familiarity with cognitive-behavioral interventions, and/or evidence-based practice, preferredProficiency using word processing, spreadsheet and databasesExcellent interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills.Must be available to work flexible, non-traditional schedule, which in addition to weekdays may include emergency on-call and weekend hoursSense of humor a plus
