Program CoordinatorThe Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the Program, including grant opportunities. In addition, the Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing the five key elements of positive youth development: fun, safety, recognition, opportunities & expectations, and supportive relationships in all daily interactions. The Program Coordinator is expected to uphold the Club values inside and outside of the Club and hold their staff accountable for maintaining the Club values.
The Club values include teamwork, impact-driven, excellence & good character.General Program Duties:Approves program plans, including specialized and night programming.Ensure all programming is high quality, fun, and engagingEvaluate Club programs, report findings, and take appropriate action to correctEstablishes an environment that ensures the health and safety of membersExpected to be proactive and flexible while working with youth, parents, the community, and Club staffAssist in designing impact programs that produce measurable outcomesResponsible for communicating daily with the Elementary Director on overall Club and program operationsResponsible for completing all required program updates for newsletters, publications, etc.Responsible for creating and implementing membership outreach strategies for youthResponsible for working in collaboration with community partners to enhance servicesAll other duties as assignedAdministrative/Management:Responsible for holding the biweekly team and individual one-on-one meetings with all direct reportsResponsible for hiring, supervising, and evaluating direct reportsRequired to be on the floor assisting with floor management when members are in the ClubResponsible for managing behavioral and disciplinary issuesProvides leadership and direction to volunteers and staffAttendance to meetings is required and expected.Promote the Club during school open houses, community events, etc.Assist Program Directors with new member orientationResponsible for assisting with all special events at the ClubOn snow days and unexpected full days, covering all shifts to ensure the Club can openManage budget and grant requirementsResponsible for creating the staff scheduleEmployment Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or three years equivalent experience in a similar field preferredMinimum of 1-year experience with youth services organizationsMust understand, implement, and demonstrate principles of behavior management and other youth treatment modalities, per the Club training and values of fun, supportive relationships, recognition, opportunities and expectations, and safety.Must be able to provide leadership, on-the-spot and reflective feedback, and supervision to assigned employees to ensure they, too, understand and demonstrate principles of behavior management and other youth treatment modalities, per the Club training and values of fun, supportive relationships, recognition, opportunities and expectations, and safety.Physical Requirements:Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, parents, etc., at the Club to ensure the safety of the space and others, provide guidance and reflection per the Club priority outcomes and goalsAbility to stand/sit for long periods throughout a shiftAbility to operate various types of general office equipment including PC, telephone, copier, etc.This position is considered to be safety-sensitive.We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free Workplace!All qualified applicants are considered for positions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, non-job-related disability, or any other protected class.The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains provides reasonable accommodations to applicants and employees in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
