Job Title

To perform skilled work in the installation, programming, maintenance and repair of program clock systems, fire alarm systems, bell and buzzer signal systems and solid state devices.

Examples Of Duties

Essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Installs, maintains and makes repairs to master clocks, secondary and other clocks, fire alarm control panels, heat and smoke sensors, bell and program devices, buzzer signal systems and related devices.
  • Programs bell schedules into master clocks.
  • Performs tests using volt-ohm meters and oscillators to isolate malfunctions.
  • Trouble shoots and repairs or replaces relays, printed circuit boards, leaf and micro-switches, clock gears, cams and motors and power supplies using electrical and electronic hand tools, electrical power tools and calibration test fixtures.
  • Tests and repairs impulse clock correction circuits.
  • Pulls wire in existing conduits for installation of clock, fire, and signal systems.
  • Drives District vehicle to and from work sites.
  • Performs job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Any combination of twenty-four months of experience installing, maintaining, and programming master program clocks and fire alarm systems, intrusion alarm systems, or performing journey-level electrical/electronics work -AND- high school graduation or the equivalent. An appropriate, valid California driver's license is required.
