Program AssistantCome and join our team! We are seeking an organized, energetic, and service-oriented Program Assistant to support the planning, coordination, and daily operations of departmental programs and activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, engaging with the public, and helping programs run smoothly from start to finish. The Program Assistant performs routine to moderately complex administrative and program support duties while working closely with professional staff, community partners, and the public. The ideal candidate will assist program supervisors with the planning, coordination, and implementation of departmental programs, events, and initiatives, including researching program goals and providing recommendations to improve effectiveness.
Coordinate logistics for activities and events, including scheduling, setup, execution, and breakdown. Maintain accurate department records, reports, and program data using departmental software and databases, and collect and analyze program data to support performance tracking and program improvement.Education & Credentials That Power This RoleKnowledge of departmental policies, plans, and procedures, as well as modern office practices and municipal operations related to the assigned County department. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant computer applications, along with basic arithmetic, organizational, time-management, and customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, prioritize and organize work, and operate standard office equipment including computers, multi-line telephone systems, scanners, fax machines, and copiers. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, follow written and verbal instructions, and use sound judgment, tact, and resourcefulness to solve problems.
Capable of preparing routine correspondence, reports, promotional materials, and maintaining accurate records while meeting deadlines and objectives. Skilled in providing internal and external customer assistance through various communication methods, presenting programs to diverse audiences, supervising or directing the work of others, using computers for data entry or reporting, operating a motor vehicle, and maintaining effective working relationships with managers, service providers, employees, and the public.Extra Details You Should KnowPhysical demands include walking, sitting, hearing, seeing up close, talking, standing, finger movement, and repetitive motions. Depending on the position, frequent lifting up to 25 pounds and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Work environment is primarily indoor and climate-controlled but may be exposed to disagreeable elements such as irate customers, extreme noise, heat, odors, heights, and/or dust.
