Onsite Full Time Bio & Pharmacology & Health

UPMC Northwest Hospital Seneca, PA Status: Flex full Time (28-40 hours/week) Department: Intermediate Care/Telemetry (2 North) Rotating day and night shifts required, along with rotating weekend and holiday assignments.

Patient & Family Education

  • Apply adult learning principles to educate patients, families, students, and new staff.
  • Provide clear, thorough teaching to support patients through their care journey and transitions.
  • Support development of students and new team members; may serve as a preceptor.
  • Foster open dialogue, seek feedback, and promote continuous learning.

Clinical Practice & Care Delivery

  • Use the nursing process within a Relationship‑Based Care model to create a healing environment.
  • Develop daily patient goals and individualized plans of care.
  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking in assessing clinical, social, psychological, and spiritual needs.
  • Communicate effectively with the care team and ensure comprehensive, accurate documentation.
  • Incorporate organizational and professional standards to improve safety, quality, and patient satisfaction.
  • Build compassionate, therapeutic relationships with patients and families.

Professional Development & Team Engagement

  • Take accountability for ongoing professional growth and practice improvement.
  • Participate in shared governance, unit goals, and change initiatives.
