nPosition Summary: The Professional Engineer (PE) position manages construction projects by preparing engineering design plans and documents in accordance with client and company specifications.
nPosition Responsibilities:
nPlans, designs, and prepares construction documents for residential and commercial land development projects related to grading plans, street profiles, sanitary and storm water designs, and erosion & sediment pollution control plans, storm water management calculations.
nDesigns for construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models.
nPrepares engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data.
nDetermines project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs.
nPrepares feasibility study by analyzing engineering design; conducting environmental impact studies; assembling data.
nPrepares engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
nConfirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress; inspecting construction site; verifying calculations and placements.
nFulfills project requirements by training and guiding operators.
nMaintains operations by enforcing project and operational policies and procedures.
nProvides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
nComplies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
nMaintains project database by writing computer programs; entering data; completing backups.
nContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
nEducation/Skills/Qualifications:
nB.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
nState Professional Engineer license (P.E.)
n5+ years of experience working as a Professional Engineer
nProficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, Design Skills, Site Development, Planning, Conceptual Skills, Legal Compliance, and Drafting required.
nValid driver’s license required.
nCandidates must display excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities and positive customer facing personality to effectively work with clients and team members.
nCandidates must also display strong organizational skills.
