Thousands across a variety of industries have depended on Hawkins for the chemical products they need since 1938.ResponsibilitiesKnowing the equipment and process operation; handle, store, transfer, and transport chemical material; operate, monitorControl continuous and batch processes; both manual and automated operation of the process (adjusting variables such as temperature, pressure, feed rate, sampling, etc.) in accordance with SOPsCommunicate compliance, safety, and equipment needs as personally identifiedAccurately and completely fill out required paperwork.
Including the recording of operating data such as process conditions, test results, instrument readings, shipping and receiving paperwork, plant data sheets, environmental reports, inventory sheets, inspection reports, etc. as requested.Provide routine minor maintenance to process equipment and instrumentationApply all product quality and safety standards as well as report any product safety incidents to the Supervisor, Manager, or designated back-up (applicable to positions working in accordance with specific plant or company certifications).Ability to safely operate independently while adhering to all company Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)s and Complying with all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate environmental, safety and health regulationsMaintain housekeeping standardsPerform other miscellaneous related duties, as neededAbout YouHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 6 months experience as a chemical operator or equivalent experienceAbility to safely operate an industrial fork truck requiredEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate and understand (both written and verbal) complex and/or technical operations and proceduresBasic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office required; prior MRP or ERP experience preferredPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 75 poundsMust be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, reaching, and pullingAbility to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs and laddersAbility to wear PPE and equipment such as safety shoes, face shields, safety glasses, safety goggles, hearing protection, gloves, and a hard hat; chemical suits and a hair/beard net when requiredAbility to safely operate an industrial forklift when requiredWilling and able to adhere to all grooming requirements (for respirator use, SQF-certified environments, etc.)Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditionsWilling to work around chemicals and industrial machineryTravelNo travel required.Expected Compensation: $35.28/hr.Shift Hours: 10:00am-6:00pmBenefits: Hawkins offers eligible employees and their dependents comprehensive benefits, which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, LTD/STD and more.
