Production Systems Engineer

Salary: $63,232 - 63,232 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics
• At least one year of experience with PTC Creo
• Obtain Part 107 certification within three months of starting
• Ability to independently interpret requirements
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate constructively with a team
• Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to scope work and meet deadlines

• Build, integrate, inspect, and test electro-mechanical assemblies for airborne agricultural drone sensors, including cameras and stabilizing gimbals
• Assemble and wire systems, build enclosures, program circuit card assemblies, and perform system checkout and testing
• Update production designs and documentation, including design-for-manufacturing changes, and transition mature designs to factory production
• Coordinate documentation and design changes between production, engineering, and external manufacturers
• Work with electrical hardware designers to define circuit card assembly dimensions, connectors, indicators, and user inputs
• Create and provide technical documentation and data packages to contract manufacturers, and serve as their technical point of contact
• Facilitate, review, and implement quality assurance processes with contract manufacturers
• Support production planning, prioritize assembly builds for customer orders, and help ensure schedules and orders are completed on time
• Monitor material availability and support defect-prevention and process-improvement efforts
• Investigate faults, troubleshoot and repair equipment, and resolve product issues in collaboration with engineering
• Perform optical assembly, alignment, and focusing, as well as flight testing
• Record checkout and test results and help ensure delivery of defect-free products

We are hiring a Product Systems Engineer to support the production and continued improvement of electro-mechanical assemblies for drone-based agricultural sensors. The role includes hands-on production work and collaboration with engineering and contract manufacturers. The pay rate is $30.40 per hour; the non-exempt position is eligible for overtime at 1.5 times the base rate for hours over 40 in a workweek, or as required by applicable law.
