The Production Support Engineer provides technical support for manufacturing operations by monitoring production equipment and automated systems, troubleshooting operational issues, and supporting equipment reliability and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide technical support for production equipment, automated manufacturing systems, and assembly or machining operations.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions, production interruptions, and recurring operational issues and support appropriate corrective actions.
• Monitor equipment performance and identify conditions that may affect production continuity, product quality, or manufacturing efficiency.
• Support the operation, adjustment, troubleshooting, and maintenance of CNC machines, robotic equipment, PLC-controlled systems, and other automated manufacturing equipment.
• Review equipment settings, operating conditions, and system information to identify causes of production-related problems.
• Assist with equipment setup, adjustment, and technical modifications required for stable production operations.
• Perform and support preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and recurring failures.
• Analyze production and equipment issues and recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability, production efficiency, and process stability.
• Maintain technical records relating to equipment conditions, maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and other personnel to resolve manufacturing and equipment-related issues.
• Support the implementation and operation of new or modified production equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Follow applicable equipment safety procedures and manufacturing safety requirements.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering or technical field.
• Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, automated production systems, and general production processes.
• Familiarity with CNC equipment, industrial robotics, PLC-controlled systems, or other automated manufacturing technologies.
• Knowledge of equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance practices.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, equipment manuals, operating instructions, and related technical documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address equipment and production-related issues.
• Ability to work effectively with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and other personnel in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in automotive or other automated manufacturing operations preferred.
