Job TitleSupervise activities related to the daily operation of Strattec's ATTeC tooling departments.ResponsibilitiesThis position will oversee safety, quality, personnel, assets, inventory, KPIs, and production of all new tools and tooling components originating in the department.Sustain a strong 5s culture through maintaining initiatives and identifying new opportunities for improvementSupport 5s training opportunities for all individualsEnforce adherence to and drive continuous improvement in all matters of safetyIdentify areas where safety corrective actions are needed and drive implementationMaintain 5s and safety KPIs, for report out to upper management team on a weekly and monthly basisEnsure the department is "tour and audit" ready at all timesResponsible for meeting or exceed new tooling build goals dates, budgets, etc.Support manufacturing operations by meeting or exceeding requirements for the production of spare tooling components and repairs.Understand and communicate department goals and objectives to all team membersManage personnel and assets to ensure efficient operationsEstablish strong bond and dedication between management and hourly workforce through communication, feedback and recognitionDevelop and implement an action plan to improve employee engagement scoreResponsible for coaching and developing team and providing them with the tools necessary to succeedMeet or exceed all KPI expectationsFollow all processes related to quality certifications (ISO, TS)Manage resources to limit and minimize inefficiencies and unnecessary overtime and cost overrunsEnsure equipment is maintained and run to specification to reduce premature wear, failure or non-performance of manufacturing assetsMaintain ownership of machines – both maintenance and cleanliness to ensure long life and operational effectivenessEnsure employees have adequate training to support operational processesEnsure all process documentation is followed and identify processes for improvementEstablish a quality-first culture. Manufacturing of non-conforming tools and components cannot be acceptedEnsure all tools have the necessary preventative maintenance to avoid quality issues and maximize uptimeDrive continuous improvement activities related to the quality of new tools and spare parts.This position will be participating in customer tours where neededHourly workforce will be required to help give tours and explain their duties as it relates to producing quality product for our customersSupervisors will be responsible for manufacturing product that meets customer acceptance criteriaImplementing Lean tools such as Kaizen and 5s activities will be required to meet cost reduction goalsAll processes must continually reviewed to ensure the most efficient methodologies are utilizedParticipation in Kaizen events will be requiredSupervisors must be responsible for identifying and implementing cost savings projects throughout the yearPosition will be required to understand and utilize 5-Why and other problem solving toolsQualificationsMinimum of 5 years experience in a similar tooling / tool room leadership position. Journeyman Tool & Die maker with 5 + years related work experience preferred.
Experience leading Kaizen and 5s implementations. Previous responsibility for identifying and maintaining Key Performance Indicators.
