Production Supervisor

SupervisorUnder the direction of the Manager, the Supervisor will provide leadership to the team and assist with supervision of employees as needed in different areas.

Key responsibilities include committing and adhering to Daybreak Foods industry leading Animal Welfare practices and standards, supervising daily operations of the staff, monitoring the completion and accuracy of daily chore sheets, monitoring the environmental controls of the barns and complex throughout the day and implementing corrective actions to address concerns found, monitoring equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and keeping up with necessary PMs, ensuring effective safety practices and procedures are being followed, assisting with animal welfare programs and documentation as needed for audit purposes, being on call for 24 hour alarm calls and any corrective action needed to resolve them, ensuring proper and thorough training is completed for employees, monitoring stakeholder activity during the workday and adjusting to optimize efficiency, providing coaching for employees as needed, assisting with providing progressive discipline and corrective action as needed, assisting with performing performance evaluations, collecting weekly numbers and creating final reports, and being responsible for bird moves. Preferably an Associate degree in a related field (Ag, Business, etc.) or 5+ years of experience in poultry industry. 3 to 5 years of experience in a poultry production setting preferred. 1 to 3 years holding a position of leadership. Basic Preventive Maintenance experience preferred. Ability to read, speak, and write English required. Bi-lingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required. Strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others. Ability to hire, train, motivate, and retain a talented workforce. Ability to provide effective coaching, mentoring and discipline. Ability to plan, execute, and measure results and outcomes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate a positive team-oriented attitude. Ability and willingness to learn several associated positions. Knowledge of effective safety practices. General understanding of electrical and mechanical devices with good troubleshooting skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of computers including windows based programs and systems. Ability to interact with individuals from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work environment frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Temperature varies in relation to the outside temperature. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Proper personal protective equipment will be required during certain working conditions.
