Production SupervisorMeriden, CTThe Production Supervisor serves as a key member of the plant leadership team and is responsible for creating a culture of accountability, engagement, teamwork, operational excellence, and compliance. The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating manufacturing operations on an assigned shift to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant production of quality products. This position is accountable for employee supervision, production performance, safety, quality, food safety, staffing, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting overall plant objectives.Available Shift2:00 pm - 10:30pmMonday - FridayCompensationA reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,000 - $85,000 + bonus + benefits.

Collaborate with peers to inform them about essential topics during shift changeoversManage shifts to attain production and scrap goalsTroubleshoots and resolves processes, equipment, and material issues with supportInterprets work orders and specifications to shift employees, as necessaryLeads or supports efforts to determine root cause and develop corrective actionsStudies and understands production schedule and deploys available labor and other resources, as requiredRoutinely audits product quality and ensures specifications are met and quality procedures followedActively engaged with and recommended measures to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and waste reductionInitiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve work goalsEnsure accuracy and finalize production paperwork, including production reports, work order documentation, safety and sanitation documents, quality records, finished goods tickets, etc.Monitor and maintain shift production staffing levelsAnalyze production losses and determine corrective actionDrive SQF (Safe Quality Foods) culture and ensure GMPs are followedPerform SQF audits and coach employees on proper GMP protocols and proceduresComply with established plant rules and procedures that promote compliance with customer service-related activities, including, but not limited to:Following run-order specifications for each productFollowing pre-requisite programs in compliance with SQF Code, Manufacture of Food Packaging, and food safety requirementsFollowing all Good Manufacturing Practices in compliance with all Food Safety RequirementsMeets and strives to exceed safety, quality, production, waste, and housekeeping goals set forth by managementOther miscellaneous duties as assigned by managementQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDAssociate's or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferredMinimum five (5) years of manufacturing experienceMinimum three (3) years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience leading teams in a fast-paced production environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsPreferred QualificationsLean Manufacturing training or certificationSix Sigma certificationExperience in food packaging or regulated manufacturing environmentsExperience working in SQF-certified facilitiesPhysical RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
