This position oversees daily operations on the production floor, managing personnel and resources to ensure timely, safe, and high-quality manufacturing output. The Supervisor is responsible for scheduling, coordinating with internal teams, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and actively developing talent on the floor. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, safety, HR, and project management teams to support business goals and maintain compliance with safety and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPersonnel Management & Team LeadershipSupervise a team of welders, fitters, fabricators, painters, and helpers across day and night shiftsServe as the main point of contact for production personnel, addressing daily needs and resolving issuesConduct mid-year and year-end performance evaluationsSupport recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of new hires in collaboration with HRAssist with translation and training during safety orientation for new team membersTrack and submit weekly timesheets for direct hires and contractorsProduction Planning & ExecutionDevelop and communicate daily job priorities to ensure schedule adherenceOrder and manage weekly materials and supplies to maintain production flowCoordinate with night shift supervisor to ensure alignment of shift activitiesSchedule key production processes such as PWHT (Post Weld Heat Treatment) and delivery datesCollaboration & Project SupportPartner with Project Managers to provide accurate labor hour estimates for vessel buildsWork with engineers to troubleshoot production challenges and improve efficiencySupport ongoing facility and process improvement projects with the Industrial EngineerBuild and refine SAW (Submerged Arc Welding) setups to optimize welding time and productivityTraining & DevelopmentDevelop and implement training programs to certify new welders and cross-train employeesConstruct and maintain training booths for welding skill developmentOversee specialized processes such as nozzle and manway resurfacingHealth, Safety & ComplianceEnsure adherence to company safety policies, procedures, and quality standardsSupport safety department in promoting safe work practices and training initiativesMonitor equipment, tools, and floor conditions to mitigate risk and ensure a safe environmentCompetenciesRequiredHands-on knowledge of welding and fabrication processes (SAW, MIG, TIG, etc.)Experience managing schedules, materials, and personnel in a production environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skills, including cross-functional collaborationProficiency in using basic power tools and interpreting fabrication drawingsAble to work 12-hour shifts, lift 50 lbs, and climb ladders as neededComfortable with basic math and tape measure readingBasic computer skills required (Microsoft Excel, timekeeping systems, etc.)PreferredBilingual (English/Spanish)Previous experience with ASME-certified fabrication or pressure vessel manufacturingExperience in developing and delivering training programsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practicesEducation and Experience3+ years of experience in a supervisory or lead role in a manufacturing or industrial settingHigh School Diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications a plusBenefits Designed to Work for You:Free HSA health plan or traditional PPO401(k) with generous company match (Safe Harbor)Dental, vision, and optional coverage like accident & critical illness insuranceHSA and FSA accounts to save on healthcare costsCompany-paid Life, Long Term Disability, and AD&D insuranceConfidential support for mental health, family matters, legal concerns, and more through our Employee Assistance ProgramDiscounts on gyms, shopping & entertainmentHealth benefits kick in fast – first of the month after 30 daysPaid Time OffPaid HolidaysBereavement LeaveThis organization provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
