Production Supervisor

Production ManagerMAC Trailer Enterprises, Inc., and its subsidiaries is the nation's foremost manufacturer of dump, flatbed, straight truck bodies, dry bulk pneumatic tanks, and liquid tank trailers, for the transfer trailer industry. Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Responsible for a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operationsPlan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing productsPrepare operational schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specificationsReview production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimal costs and prevent operational delaysInspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilizationDevelop or revise standard operational and working practices and observe workers to ensure compliance with standardsResolve worker grievances or submit unsettled grievances to Production Manager or Human Resources for actionCompile, store, and retrieve production dataSet examples of safe practices through conductInvestigate and correct, or have corrected promptly, unsafe conditionsKnow, observe and enforce all the general safety rules and special instructions for the departmentThoroughly acquaint each employee with safety instructions and practiceTake part in workplace safety and health program activities and contribute to their successInvestigate and report all personal injuries and illnesses sustained on the job by personnel within their area of responsibilityInvestigate and report all property damage accidentsWelcome and utilize, as far as practical, the safety suggestions which may be made by the workersInstruct new personnel on safety and carefully observe their workEnsure workers have and use personal protective equipment as determined by the Safety ManagerEnsure all tools and equipment are in safe and proper working conditionAny other duties assignedDirectly supervises various employees in the Production Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Interview, hire, and train employees. Plan, assign, and direct work. Appraise performance.

Reward and discipline employees. Address complaints and resolve problems.Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Bachelor's degree preferred. 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training Or 2 years of experience or training.Physical Demands:Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including being physically capable of maneuvering self throughout, work area, product, equipment.
