Production Supervisor - First Shift

Production SupervisorNOVO Health Services is seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily plant operations and drive performance across safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.This role is responsible for overseeing a team of 20–60 production associates (including full-time and temporary staff), ensuring efficient workflow, regulatory compliance, and consistent service delivery to our healthcare partners.The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, develops teams, and drives operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & ProductionLead daily production operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectivesSchedule staffing to meet production demands and optimize labor efficiencyOversee soil sorting, washing, drying, and finishing processes to ensure productivity and complianceMonitor equipment performance (CBWs, dryers, washer/extractors) to maintain optimal workflow and throughputPartner with chemical and maintenance teams to ensure proper formulas, equipment function, and processing efficiencyIdentify and proactively address bottlenecks and operational challengesLeadership & Team DevelopmentSupervise, coach, and develop production associates to drive engagement and accountabilityTrain employees on equipment operation, safety protocols, and standard work proceduresFoster a positive, team-oriented culture with open communication and strong employee relationsProvide performance feedback and support continuous development of team membersSafety & ComplianceEnforce all safety policies and procedures in alignment with OSHA and NOVO standardsLead safety meetings and promote a strong safety-first cultureIdentify hazards and implement corrective actions to ensure a safe work environmentEnsure proper use and maintenance of all equipmentQuality & PerformanceUphold quality standards to meet customer and regulatory requirementsTrack and analyze production, safety, and labor metricsMaintain accurate records for productivity, attendance, incidents, and corrective actionsSupport audits, compliance initiatives, and continuous improvement effortsAdministrative & Support FunctionsPrepare schedules, reports, and operational documentationAssist with inventory, purchasing, and budget-related activitiesSupport Business Manager with plant initiatives and special projectsStep in as needed to support production operationsQualificationsRequiredHigh School Diploma or GED required; additional education or training preferred3–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial environmentExperience leading hourly teams in a fast-paced settingStrong communication, leadership, and organizational skillsBasic computer skills with willingness to learn new systemsPreferredExperience in industrial laundry, healthcare, or regulated manufacturing environmentsKnowledge of production equipment and workflow optimizationExperience analyzing performance data to improve operations and reduce costsKey CompetenciesProven ability to drive productivity and hold teams accountableStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to lead in a high-volume, fast-paced environmentPositive, proactive leadership style with a "can-do" attitudeComfortable giving and receiving feedback and adapting to changePhysical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, and pull for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 35 lbsAbility to work in a noisy, industrial environmentWillingness to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as neededWhat we can offer you as a full-time associate:Competitive payPaid HolidaysPaid Time Off Program (PTO)401(k) w/Employer MatchFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Health Savings Account (HSA)Medical, Dental, and Vision ProgramsBasic Life/AD&D InsuranceLong-Term Disability (LTD)Why work for Novo Health Services?NOVO Health Services strives to be the employer of choice in the hospital sterile and hygienically clean linen industry.
