Electrical Assembly Supervisor

Position Overview

Woodlawn Consulting Group is seeking an Electrical Assembly Supervisor for a manufacturer of electrical power distribution equipment. This position oversees daily assembly and wiring operations, leads production teams, and ensures work meets quality, safety, and delivery requirements.

The ideal candidate combines hands-on electrical assembly experience with strong leadership skills and a practical approach to improving production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and develop a team of assemblers, wiring technicians, electricians, and foremen.
• Assign work, establish performance expectations, and monitor production progress.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Oversee equipment assembly and wiring according to electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and production specifications.
• Coordinate materials, tools, and equipment availability to keep production moving.
• Troubleshoot assembly and wiring issues to minimize downtime and production delays.
• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to reduce defects and rework.
• Enforce applicable safety, environmental, and industry requirements.
• Conduct safety meetings, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
• Adjust staffing and workflow to meet changing priorities and delivery schedules.
• Monitor team productivity and support timely, cost-effective completion of assembly work.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve processes, and control costs.
• Recommend improvements to tooling, equipment, and assembly methods.
• Use production management systems to track work and support operational planning.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of assembly or manufacturing experience, including two years in a supervisory role.
• Hands-on experience with electrical assembly and wiring techniques, tools, and equipment.
• Strong technical understanding of low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution equipment.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings, and bills of material.
• Experience using ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of safety requirements in manufacturing and electrical assembly environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
