Bacon Line SupervisorThe Bacon Line Supervisor oversees daily production operations within the bacon processing department of a pork processing facility. This role ensures that production, quality, safety, and efficiency standards are consistently met while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.This position requires a hands-on leader who can make real-time decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, drive continuous improvement, and effectively lead and develop production team members.Production & Operations ManagementOversee daily bacon production to meet quality, yield, and volume targets.Monitor production metrics and take immediate corrective actions when needed.Manage production schedules and ensure timely completion of daily goals.Facilitate workflow, staffing, and line efficiency to meet operational demands.Identify root causes of inefficiencies and implement corrective and preventive actions.Utilize Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and process control tools to drive continuous improvement.Assist with pre-operational activities and ensure readiness of equipment and staff.Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop team members to achieve performance and quality expectations.Promote a positive, respectful, and high-morale work environment.Provide training, enforce job rotation requirements, and ensure skill development.Address employee concerns, enforce accountability, and implement corrective actions consistently.Communicate production goals, updates, and expectations clearly across shifts.Partner with other supervisors to ensure overall plant efficiency.Food Safety, Quality & ComplianceEnsure compliance with USDA, HACCP, SQF, and all food safety regulations.Maintain a safe, sanitary work environment in accordance with company and regulatory standards.Enforce proper processing procedures and prevent product deviations.Conduct audits and support development of SOPs and process controls.Monitor KPIs related to safety, quality, and production performance.Safety & AccountabilityEnforce all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.Ensure team member compliance with company policies and good housekeeping practices.Maintain fair and consistent disciplinary practices.Qualifications & SkillsEducation: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Business, or a related field preferred.Experience: 1–3+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (meat processing preferred).Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with USDA, HACCP, and food safety regulations.Continuous Improvement: Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, and process control tools preferred.Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).Core Competencies: Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, multi-tasking, communication, and organizational skills.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous environments.Comfortable with prolonged computer use and detailed reporting.Ability to work around food allergens.Ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms (in-person, phone, email, virtual).Additional ExpectationsFlexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.Commitment to safety, quality, and organizational values.Willingness to attend training and development programs.Benefits & Working ConditionsLocation: On-site / In-personBenefits: 401(k), Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), Paid Time Off (PTO)
