Production SupervisorVertiv – STL Austin, Texas is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead day-to-day assembly operations in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and productivity within the STL assembly area while supporting production ramp and process stabilization.The Production Supervisor will serve as the front-line leader for production teams, driving execution of manufacturing processes, developing operators, and ensuring alignment with defined operational and global AME standards. This role plays a critical part in establishing stable, repeatable production during early-stage manufacturing and ongoing operations.Responsibilities:Production Execution & Performance Management Lead daily production operations, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets are metMonitor production performance (output, cycle time, quality, schedule adherence) and take immediate action to address gapsDrive execution of production plans, adjusting staffing and priorities as needed to meet changing demand and conditionsCommunicate daily production status, risks, and recovery plans to leadershipProduction Ramp & Process Stabilization Support early-stage production ramp, including stabilization of processes, workforce, and outputIdentify and escalate production issues, partnering with Manufacturing Engineering to resolve root causesEnsure consistent execution of defined processes, even in evolving or changing conditionsDrive actions to recover production shortfalls and meet customer commitmentsTeam Leadership & Workforce Development Directly supervise and develop hourly production employees (assemblers, testers, operators, etc.)Provide coaching, feedback, and training to improve performance and reinforce standard workPromote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvementFoster two-way communication and maintain strong engagement within the teamSafety & Quality Ownership Enforce all safety and environmental regulations and ensure safe work practices are consistently followedEnsure adherence to quality standards and proceduresIdentify, escalate, and support resolution of quality issues in productionReinforce proper use of work instructions and standard operating proceduresOperational Coordination & Cross-Functional Alignment Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to address process, equipment, and production issuesCoordinate activities across departments to ensure smooth production flowSupport implementation of process improvements, new equipment, and operational changesPlanning & Scheduling Develop and maintain work schedules and production plans to meet customer demandAdjust schedules and manpower allocation based on production needs and changing prioritiesMaintain visibility to capacity constraints and escalate risks as neededQualifications:Required 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment2+ years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role preferred (or demonstrated leadership capability)Experience supporting production ramp, new product introduction (NPI), or early-stage manufacturing environmentsProven ability to manage production teams in a fast-paced, changing environmentStrong problem-solving skills and ability to drive action to resolve production issuesPreferred Experience in assembly-based manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing principlesExperience working with ERP/MRP systemsEducation And Certifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial EngineeringPhysical & Environmental Demands:Ability to stand/walk for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs as neededTime Travel Required:NoneThe successful candidate will embrace Vertiv's Core Principals & Behaviors to help execute our Strategic Priorities.Our Core Principals: Safety.
