Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity. Identifies problems in the production process and provides production reports to support process improvement.ResponsibilitiesSupervise and lead production team members in their daily activities, including assigning duties, providing training, coaching, counseling, and presenting disciplinary actions as necessaryCoordinate and communicate production activities with external customers and internal departments, including logistics, engineering, and production management (to include management on other shifts)Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and safety guidelines to workersPromote flow and pull of products and information to internal and ultimately external customersLead regular communications with the team on company and department performance, with the goals of improvement and reducing waste and non-value-added activityInvestigate problems and issues on the production floor, recommend and implement solutions, including 5S tools to reduce variation in the work environment.
