Production SupervisorAs a Production Supervisor in the Solventborne Plant, you will directly manage hourly union associates on shift and coordinate all department activities with the help of your other shift supervisory teams. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you will plan each day's work based on available personnel, equipment, and materials. The supervisor directs and controls the actual work process, which includes training employees, distributing work, and monitoring operations to ensure tasks are completed safely. Our Solventborne facility manufactures paint using a variety of chemical raw materials, blending pigments, resins, and additives in controlled production environments. Supervisors must be comfortable leading teams in a chemical-processing setting where safety, and adherence to standardized procedures are necessary.This is an "Off-Shift" position and would rotate between the below shifts:2nd Shift: 2:30p - 11:30p3rd Shift: 10:30p - 7:30aKey ResponsibilitiesManage salary and hourly employees, including two salary supervisors and approximately ten hourly employees.Coordinate production activities within the department on all shifts, ensuring cross-department needs are met and plant goals are achieved.Maintain frequent contact with Quality Assurance, Operations Planning, Engineering, and Maintenance.Ensure product quality specifications are met, raw materials are available, and equipment and facility maintenance is completed.Work with the team to implement changes in job methods, operational improvements, and safety practices.Support safety, TPM, and continuous improvement programs, including involvement in employee safety, training, and counseling/mentoring.Be present on the production floor at least 75% of the working day to provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and real-time problem solving.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field.3+ years experience in a manufacturing supervisory role.Understanding of safety protocols and quality control measures.Knowledge of production scheduling and resource management.Experience managing processes, implementing process changes, resource planning, and production scheduling.Experience with Lean Methodology, process improvement initiatives, and 5S practices.PPG provides equal opportunity to all candidates and employees.
