Plans, assigns duties, and supervises employees assigned to the shift, and ensures duties are being performed in accordance with established plant policies and proceduresActively coach co-workers and communicate with all employees to facilitate positive change and continuous improvement in all processes, including the safety processReview production schedules and provide staffing recommendations based on product demand. Assists in the selection of employees and the direction and selection of trainingDevelop, implement, and review employee performance and development plans to assure quality, productivity and delivery goals are metPromote quality, teamwork, and organizational leadershipImplement process control procedures to ensure quality standards are metDemonstrate leadership in all areas of production. This requires observing and enforcing rules and practices, encouraging safe and healthy work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors, which may lead to accidentsTake appropriate actions to ensure that resources and efforts remain focused on the achievement of plant financial and operating goalsProvide input on capacity and process capabilityEnsure resolution of departmental labor relations issuesEnsure employees report to their jobs in an appropriate mental and physical condition and are ready to workPromote and support diversity initiatives and equal employment opportunityAdminister company and union work rules, contracts, and proceduresWhat You'll BringAssociate or Bachelor degree preferred; experience may be substituted for degreeAbility to be versatile and adapt to a fast-paced environmentGood mechanical aptitude, quality background, lean manufacturing experience, strong leadership, and organizational skills are preferredComfortable making decisions and enforcing them, following set guidelines consistentlyDemonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneouslyAbility to plan, organize, initiate, and follow upExcellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Internet Explorer, and AccessEqual Opportunity Employer.
