Production SupervisorPeninsula Plastics is rapidly expanding and we are looking to add a Production Supervisor on our 1st shift to our team in Pontiac. Location(s): must be able to commute to BOTH locations (Pontiac and Auburn Hills located 1 mile from each other) Shift: 1st shift from 5:00AM to 3:30PM Monday to Thursday (OT on Friday and Saturday) Pay: Hourly - $60,000 to $80,000 per yearOur company specializes in manufacturing re-usable plastic packaging and is a leader in the thermoforming industry. We are currently looking for motivated individuals to join our team as a Thermoforming Production Supervisor.
Supervisors are in charge of leading teams of 10-35 people operating Thermoforming machinery. Supervisors work closely with management to meet customer deadlines while maintaining a positive and safe environment.Reports to: President/CEO, VP of Engineering Responsibilities:Manage a team of production personnel at two facilitiesTraining production team members in safety, proper production practices, and quality standardsEnsure product being produced adheres to quality and labor standardsEnforce and improve labor efficienciesAbility to motivate hourly employees to be productive and maintain good attendanceWork directly with the quality department and have a good understanding of the QMS to produce quality productsInteract with all levels of management and hourly employeesTrack products being produced in the manufacturing progress to ensure each step of the process is followed correctlyEnsure all materials are staged and available when neededCreate corrective action plans to reduce the repetition of incidencesFollow company safety policiesFollow production schedulesPerform employee administrative duties such as scheduling, employee discipline, performance reviews, etcQualifications:Recent experience in Plastics or Thermoforming is requiredExperience with implementation of change/improvement processesDevelopment of training programs for production workersPrevious experience plant operationsKnowledge of 5S and lean manufacturingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in MS Office and Google SuiteStrong Organization SkillsStrong Leadership SkillsFamiliarity with plant tools and equipmentStrong troubleshooting and critical thinking skillsAbility to Lift up to 50 poundsAbility to stand for 8+ hoursAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment
