Over the last 85 years, Trinity Industries has grown to over 6,000 employees strong with the common purpose of Delivering Goods, For the Good of All.What you'll do:Plan, schedule, coordinate, and/or monitor the flow of cars coming in and outCollaborate with all departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve customers' needsBuild integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing and logistics and outside suppliersFocus resources on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through various production processes and establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals on a regular basisCollect, compile, and present railcar OEM and maintenance progress and status report daily, or as requestedResponsible for ensuring inventory & material controls are in place and executed by the planPromote alignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the maintenance repair shop for TRMO carsDetermine car requirements and coordinate the efficient movement of production and engineeringCreates and distributes shop trackers to the production departmentsProvide Plant Manager daily updates on Units and revenuePerform File ReviewCoordinate information and activities with other team membersMay coordinate or exchange information with third parties, vendors, or customersLead technical and mechanical reviews with Operations, Safety, Welding, Quality to analyze and develop optimal process instructionsDevelop and conduct reports, manage meetings, and support the railcar maintenanceCollaborate with Lean and Continuous Improvement teams at plants during Kaizen events or Value Stream mapping activitiesRequired to provide support during peak fulfillment periods to meet corporate financial targetsOther duties as assignedWhat you will need:Bachelor's degree with minimum of 5 yrs. of relevant experience, or combination of education and related experience5 years of manufacturing experience, preferredPrior experience working in Logistics, Production Planning or SchedulingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detailProficiency in Outlook, MS Office applications, especially ExcelAbility to work across the organization's various functions and with external suppliers
