Production PlannerTrillium Professional is now seeking a Production Planner in Newark, CA for a direct-hire opportunity!The Production Planner is responsible for accurately processing customer orders, from order entry through delivery and communicating a positive relationship with the customer. He/she will work closely with Production Supervisors, Sales/Customer Service, Design, Sourcing, Shipping, and Quality. He/she will be a liaison between Sales (the customer) and Production to ensure the customer's order is accurately and professionally completed. He/she will control production schedules across multiple manufacturing sites, planning and prioritizing to maximize efficiency and OTD performance.

He/she will coordinate with the team daily to monitor production status, address issues as they arise, and provide regular status/performance reports.Main Responsibilities:Scheduling and CommunicatingManage daily production schedule to completion within scheduled period, assigning tasks to supervisors/leads as requiredCommunicate both upstream and downstream for the entire duration of a sales orderMonitor manufacturing times to maximize efficiency, making recommendations for improvement where applicablePersonnelCarries a team building, professional dialogue with supervisors to convey expectations along with prioritizing requestsWith Manager, performance manage employees as required to maintain a safe, efficient, and cooperative work group.With Manager drive goals actual vs estimated labor reports/efficienciesOperationsManage daily production schedule to completion within scheduled period, assigning tasks to supervisors/leads as requiredMonitor manufacturing times to maximize efficiency, making recommendations for improvement where applicableMaintain production quality in accordance with Nefab or customer standards and ISO 9001 and 14001Be a team player by helping ensure that the workplace is operating in accordance with OSHA and local standardsReport machine unplanned down time or lack of labor to General Manager when requiredWith the Manager, assist in the planning and scheduling of all workProvide input as a team player regarding budgets and capital expenses and assist in feasibility studies to drive improvements in WIP related items through CI, SWOT, etc.Interface with engineers to resolve technical issuesProduction Planning/Administration StaffGenerates and issues Customer Work Orders if necessary, drawings and other related documentation containing critical information regarding products to be produced and material requirementsEngineeringReviews documentation for accuracy as part of our process flowMakes necessary modification requests to the TSS to documentation and releases to Production upon completionProduction PlannerA primary function of the Production planner is coordinating and expediting the flow of production through the plant, driven by responsiveness, production, capacities and Customer Service requirements. Review a variety of relevant production related documents, analyzing, interpreting and developing appropriate action plans to ensure efficient and continuous production. The Planner interfaces with outside contractors, suppliers and vendors as well as members of management and fellow employees. As such the incumbent must maintain an accurate and current awareness of issues that impact production and customer service.

The Production Planner is responsible for assigning production workload, expediting work in progress, communicating shipping/receiving activities, reviewing/researching/documenting/creating a variety of related reports and working on any production process depending on priority and need. To be effective the incumbent must possess a good working knowledge of the production operation and its capabilities.Lead Hand Evaluation FactorsMust possess a good working knowledge of all plant equipment and their respective output capacitiesMust have a thorough knowledge of process capabilities.Annual salary is $80k/year.Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Operations preferred - 2+ years of experience in a Production Planning position within a manufacturing environment - Experience with ERP system - Experience working with steel, wood, corrugate, foam and/or other traded material considered an assetTrillium has been recruiting and placing accounting, finance and technical professionals for over 30 years.
