Experience may come from Automotive Collision Repair and Painting – Auto Body PaintingQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must have experience with spray paint using HVLP Guns. This task is based in a spray booth. This individual also must withstand a physical evaluation and respiratory test to be considered for this position. You must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. This individual should have more than 3 years of painting experience and have an understanding of the processes needed to be successful.Duties and ResponsibilitiesIncludes the following. Other duties may be assigned.Learns and understands painting area and equipmentFollows production schedule for the amount of paint needed during the day for paintingEnsures all mixing supplies needed are availablePrepares all paint according to paint suppliers' specificationsSands and prepares surface for repaintingEnsures the paint lane is cleanKeeps all tools, mixing equipment, and mixing area cleanFills solvent containers on the production floorRecognizes color and ensures correct color is usedUnderstand assembly and disassembly of paint gunCommunicate with the manager about any issues with the paint gun, air supply, paint quality, and paint boothNotifies manager when supplies need to be reorderedRecognizes the correct paint colorPaints samples for every lot of paint opened and adds information on a bucket on the back of the sampleReplaces filters in paint booth and oven as needed and ensures overall cleanliness of paint booth and ovenLearns paint specifications for different customers, recognizes any issues with preparation, and notifies cleaners of problemPaints units using proper technique and follows instructions to ensure proper finishFollows safety guidelines and always wears personal protective equipment and ensures proper care of equipmentLearns and understands mechanics of equipment usedReplaces brown bag on sprinkler headsFollows manager directionsMaintains productive pace as set by managerWorks cooperatively with other team membersPerforms other related duties as assignedEquipmentDrill pressRubber malletAgitator drumAir supplyPallet jackCompressorPaint bucket opener toolPaint booth and ovenPaint gunKnowledge, Skills, and Other AbilitiesKnowledge of how to use a paint gunAbility to pay attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to maintain a productive speedAbility to cooperateAbility to be punctualAbility to read and write in EnglishAbility to work on a teamAbility to measure with measuring cupsAbility to be consistent in ouncesPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
