Production OperatorDow has an exciting opportunity available as Production Operator. This role is located in Croydon (PA, USA). The Production Operator works under the immediate direction of the Activity Coordinator (in a team-based environment) and must work in a safe manner following all safety rules and regulations.
The Production Operator must also work as a team member to improve safety culture, quality and production.Responsibilities:Demonstrate safe work behaviour at all timesRead and follow operating instructionsKeep accurate written recordsMonitor process and equipment using various control systemsObserve product quality and make required changes, and corrections with minimal supervisionHandle 50 LB containers of dry raw materials for addition to the processRead and understand Instruments: Pressure, temperature and level gauges, controllersWork with hazardous materials (flammables, corrosives, combustibles, toxics, etc)Operate equipment including pumps, valves, walk-behind lift, labelers, printersChange filters, remove and dispose of used filtersOperate and maintain a forklift in a safe and efficient mannerPerform light maintenance tasks as neededMaintain orderly work and storage areaGeneral housekeeping, sweeping, trash removal, water-blasting, painting, cleaning equipmentRespond to and take appropriate action for all plant emergenciesPossess good verbal and written communication skills in EnglishMaintain daily records and reportsQualifications:A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.A minimum of 3 years of experience in a chemical plant as a board/control operator or similar role.Willing and able to work a 12-hour rotating shiftWilling and able to work overtime as needed.Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.Valid U.S. driver's license.A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
