Production ManagerThe Production Manager will lead day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production of food products. This role is responsible for meeting production targets, driving continuous improvement, maintaining compliance with food safety and regulatory standards, and coordinating cross-functional teams to optimize throughput and reduce costs.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organize and supervise daily production activities to meet volume, quality and schedule targets.Coordinate resources including personnel, equipment and materials to maximize machine uptime and production flow.Implement and monitor food safety (HACCP/FSMA) and quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.Lead, coach and develop production staff; manage staffing levels, shift planning and performance evaluations.Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve yield and lower operating costs.Monitor production metrics and KPIs; prepare and present regular reports on performance, downtime, yield and quality to senior management.Manage maintenance coordination and problem resolution to minimize downtime, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.Collaborate with procurement, engineering, quality and R&D teams on process changes, new product introductions and packaging transitions.Enforce health and safety standards and promote a culture of safe work practices on the plant floor.Control production costs through efficient resource management and by identifying opportunities for process optimization.QualificationsBachelors degree in Food Science, Engineering, Manufacturing Management or related field, or equivalent work experience.5+ years of experience in food manufacturing or related production environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.Strong knowledge of food safety systems and regulatory requirements (HACCP, FSMA, GMP).Demonstrated experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.Six Sigma training or certification (Yellow/Green/Black Belt) preferred.Proven ability to analyze production metrics, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.Excellent leadership, communication and team-building skills with experience managing multi-shift teams.Proficient with production planning, ERP/MRP systems and common manufacturing software.Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, prioritize tasks and manage change effectively.Commitment to workplace safety and quality, with a track record of improving operational performance.BenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision401kPTO & Paid HolidaysOpportunity for Growth within Company!
