Automotive parts maker needs a Production Manager to run its day shift die casting department. This position requires a very strong background in die casting processes typical for an automotive parts manufacturer. Your primary goals will be to improve safety, delivery, cost, and quality.
- With safety first in mind, you will lead continuous improvement, following the principles of the Toyota Production System.
- Will oversee three supervisors and about 75 machine operators, assemblers, and machinists.
- Work with Quality to set goals including scrap reduction, reduction in customer complaints, and reporting of non-conformances.
- Evaluate and improve manpower layout, 5-S standardization, and organization layout.
- Work with maintenance to improve machine uptime.
- Provide data driven analyses of manufacturing problems.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree preferred but not required.
- Must have a good understanding of automotive quality requirements for die cast parts.
- Must have at least three years of supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated experience in driving quality, cost, delivery times, and safety improvements.
- Must be committed to the use of metrics to understand production trends and weak points.
