Production Management TraineeUFP Site Built is the leader in designing and manufacturing value-added wood and non-wood products for the construction industry. We offer a wide variety of wood structural components, aluminum decks and rails, and cold formed steel structural components.The Production Management Trainee is responsible for developing a comprehensive knowledge of plant operations and manufacturing processes. Works under the close direction of the assigned mentor and exercises little discretion and judgment on work priority on a regular basis and a small degree of creativity is expected.Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops comprehensive knowledge of Company products and procedures through on-the-job training activities.Develops comprehensive knowledge of panel and lumber gradesDevelops knowledge of lumber math and efficient utilization of materials and develops a full understanding of cuts and yields.Learns how to operate the Company's business system in order to perform required administrative functions.Develops detailed knowledge of product costing.Develops an understanding of the production scheduling process.Develops working knowledge of the budget and expense control process.Supervises activities consistent with all Company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.Develops working knowledge of Continuous Improvement, efficiency standards, and safety.Develops working knowledge and understanding of Human Resources policies and practices.Develops a detailed understanding of operations by touring other UFP facilities and customer locations.Completes courses and assignments as directed.Prepares various reports as required.Performs other duties as required.QualificationsBachelor's degree in business or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required.Experience in manufacturing and some understanding of automation / robotics - highly preferredProficiency in the use of MS Excel spreadsheets is required.Salary Pay Range: $55,000 - $60,000 annually dependent on experience* *pay range may be adjusted depending on cost of livingAnnual performance bonus opportunity based on Company and specific business unit ROI and PBOP achievement criteria and individual job responsibility and performance.Benefits currently offered to our employees:Medical insuranceHealth savings account with company contributionDental insuranceVision insuranceBasic and voluntary life insuranceDisability insurance401(k) plan with company matchPaid vacation and holidaysStock purchase program with employee discountEducational reimbursementWellness programs and challengesOther supplemental benefitsThe Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
