Production MachinistLocation: Worcester, MA Pay Rate: $26.00/hour Schedule:Full-time, 40 hours/week2nd Shift | 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM (30-minute lunch)Position Summary:The Production Machinist is responsible for performing precision machining operations on parts with straightforward configurations and tolerances. This role supports manufacturing operations by following established work orders, blueprints, and pre-programmed machining instructions while maintaining quality and safety standards.Key Responsibilities:Perform precision machining operations on parts with defined tolerances and configurationsRead and interpret blueprints, work orders, and machining instructionsSelect appropriate tools, materials, machine feeds, and speedsSet up machines and operate equipment according to pre-programmed requirementsInspect own work using calibrated measuring instruments (micrometers, gauges, indicators, etc.)Make basic machine adjustments and manual cutter compensation to maintain tolerancesWork collaboratively with higher-level Machinists to support process improvements and product developmentMaintain a safe and organized work environment while following all safety and PPE requirementsEquipment & Tools:CNC machinesLathes, vertical mills, grinders, metal cutting sawsHand and power toolsStandard machine attachments (rotary tables, magnetic chucks, milling attachments)Qualifications:Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 2 years of machining experience and/or trainingTechnical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent CNC machining experience preferredSkills & KnowledgeBasic trade mathematicsBasic computer skillsAbility to read blueprints and understand machinist handbooksKnowledge of machining various materials (steel, aluminum, alloys, composites)Ability to work independently after training period (approximately 4–6 months)Physical & Work Environment Requirements:Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistanceAbility to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasksFrequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, noise, metal chips, abrasives, coolants, and lubricantsOccasional exposure to heat, fumes, and airborne dustRequired use of PPE including safety shoes, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, and respirators as applicable
