Remote Contract General

Production LeaderThe Production Leader is responsible for the management and direction of partial to full production operations at a designated site. The purpose of this role is to oversee areas of personnel management, animal welfare, flock management, bird scheduling, and movement. This person will provide oversight of day-to-day operations and work with specialty leaders and teams on activities, projects, and issues that address production personnel, financial, processing, feed management, and other production matters to ensure production goals are successfully achieved.Essential Job FunctionsOversee bird health, feeding, watering, ventilation, and facility cleanlinessEnsure product quality, minimize losses, and meet production targetsCoordinate feed deliveries and manage inventory needsResponsible for all aspects of personnel managementLead and direct hourly staff; foster a culture of safety, compliance, and accountabilityOversee facility and equipment maintenance and repairsEnsure compliance with FDA, USDA, EPA, FSMA, animal welfare, and biosecurity standardsAssist with budgeting and expense controlCommunicate issues to management and support required reportingCoordinate bird placement, staffing, and special projectsMaintain availability to react, respond, and arrive at the farm for emergency calls, when necessary, in accordance with company policy and applicable labor laws.Respond to alarms and operational alerts remotely or onsite, following established procedures.Work closely with the Production Manager and senior leadership to support operational and compliance goals.Support internal departments, vendors, and contractors to ensure safe and compliant operations.Other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED4+ years of hands-on experience in poultry production, specifically in layer operations with 2+years as a lead/supervisorAvailability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.Ability to work in various climate conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.Strong leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of poultry husbandry, animal welfare regulations, and biosecurity protocols.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Preferred QualificationsAssociates or Bachelor's degree in Agricultural or a related fieldPrevious poultry or in large-scale animal agriculture industry experience.Previous experience in Live Haul operationsFeed Haul and Feed Mill management, breeder and broiler production or hatchery operations experienceExperience in lean manufacturing or process improvement initiatives.Bilingual in English and SpanishWork EnvironmentThis position operates primarily in a farm/production setting, involving regular exposure to outdoor elements, livestock, and various types of production equipment.

The role demands physical stamina, requiring extended periods of standing, walking on uneven surfaces, and frequent lifting. The work environment includes exposure to typical farm conditions such as dust, odors, and noise. Adherence to safety protocols and biosecurity measures is essential.
