All other benefits-eligible first of the month following 90 days of employment.Benefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offEmployee DiscountVision insurancePosition OverviewThe Production Lead operates machines that perform one or more packaging functions such as banding, tying, packing, or wrapping containers.Language Skills: English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.Supervisory Responsibilities: None.Amount of Travel Involved: None.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesFollow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.Starts machines and observes operation to detect malfunctions of machines.Stops machines and reports malfunction to supervisor.Cleans the Case Packer machines and glue system.Maintains a clean work area.Operates the bailing machine.Operates the floor scrubber and cleans the floors.Perform the required testing, monitoring, and recording of packaging checks.Notify Supervisor when material/package quality issues are observed.Complete and turn in Case Packer Daily Cleaning reports and the Case Packer Inspection Sheets.Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, coworkers, and management.Removes broken bottles at the Case Packers.Follow Pre-Set Up processes – check recipe for product, verify film type and size, correct packaging, fiber usage, and glue pots.Operates Douglas case packers and shrink wrapper machines in "Manual" and "Automatic" operations.Makes minor adjustments such as adjustments to metering bar and adjust film rolls.Feeds fiber, film rolls and glue case packing devices.Replenishes packaging supplies such as fiber, film rolls, and glue.Depresses pedal, presses button, or moves lever to clean or operate Case Packer machines.Operates Hi Cone machine, and Wolf Tech Stretch Wrap machines in "Manual" and "Automatic" operations.Makes minor adjustments such as adjustments to metering bar, adjust film rolls, and Hi-Cone Machine wheel.Operates Markem Coders, Glue Pots, Video Jet, UPC Labeler, and Bailer machines for Lines in "Manual" and "Automatic" operations.Depresses pedal, presses button, or moves lever to clean or operate Markem Coders, Glue Pots, Video Jet, UPC Labeler, and Bailer machines.Sets up and ensures the proper operation of changeover on the Markem Coders, Video Jet, and UPC Labeler machines on Lines.Experience for SuccessStrong problem-solving skills.Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.Demonstrated ability to meet productivity standards.Observes safety and security procedures.Strong ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and to record, balance, and check results for accuracy.Good written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.Have a strong work ethic and be able to work independently as well as working in a team.Demonstrates attention to detail, a professional attitude, and produces accurate work product.Must be computer literate.Must be proactive.Must have a cooperative attitude.Must have the ability to follow-up.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.) required.Three months of experience in a bottling facility preferred.Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Behaviors & CompetenciesUpholds mental, spiritual and physical safetyAsks for and provides feedbackHolds self and others accountableSupportive and collaborative of team membersParticipates in self-development and encourages the development of those who report/to him or her and peersDemonstrates flexibility and desire for growthPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
