Production Lead – 2nd ShiftThe Production Lead oversees a crew of four manufacturing laborers on 2nd shift in a fast-paced production environment. This is a hands-on working lead role that involves supervising daily operations while actively participating in material handling, product measurement, general housekeeping, and packing tasks. The position focuses on processing carbon used in respirators and water filtration systems and requires someone who can adapt quickly to changing production needs and is comfortable working in a physically active, dirty environment with moderate lifting up to approximately 30 pounds.ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise a crew of four manufacturing laborers on 2nd shift, ensuring smooth and efficient production operations.Act as a working lead by actively participating in material handling, including moving bulk material and managing product flow through the production process.Perform packing tasks such as shoveling carbon into bags and preparing finished product for shipment or further processing.Measure product accurately to meet quality and production specifications and document results as required.Carry out general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the plant.Operate production machinery and equipment as needed, following all safety and operational procedures.Mix, batch, and compound materials in accordance with production requirements and standard operating procedures.Support production scheduling and workflow by coordinating tasks within the crew and adjusting priorities based on changing demands.Promote and follow strict safety practices, ensuring all crew members operate equipment safely and adhere to company safety standards.Adapt to fast-paced and changing production conditions, responding quickly to new instructions, process changes, and daily operational needs.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from a stable, low-turnover environment where safety and cleanliness are taken seriously and equipment is well maintained. The environment can be dirty due to the carbon process, and temperatures may be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Despite these conditions, the facility is kept very clean and well maintained, with a strong emphasis on safety and proper operation of equipment. Work is performed on 2nd shift, typically from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday, in a fast-paced setting that involves physical activity, material handling, and machine operation.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
