Job Description
* Provides engineering support for all regulatory compliance issues (USCG, ADEM, etc.).
* Works closely with Maintenance to provide design solutions to reduce cost and downtime.
* Conducts engineering studies including recommendations and reports.
* Promotes and maintains process safety management within assigned area of responsibility.
* Promotes and maintains ISO 9001 within assigned area of responsibility.
* Evaluates new equipment and provides reports of the evaluation.
* Provides technical review for any Management of Change to production areas.
* Participates in planning, scheduling, and execution of work within assigned production area.
* Observes and analyzes the production process in all of its aspects, and works together with Production Manager and other production, engineering, and maintenance personnel to improve the production process.
* Identifies and develops department training needs.
* In cooperation with the plant day supervisor, schedules major plant maintenance operations, such as turnarounds, etc.
* Provides input and guidance to process engineers to improve the overall process.
* Writes reports to document progress in the unit and to identify problems with the process.
* Ensures successful completion of documentation for maintenance activities, technical changes and projects under his or her management.
Qualifications
* B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing environment.
