Production EngineerHiFyve is hiring a Production Engineer in the Chemical Manufacturing industry in Alsip, IL!Salary: $79,800 - $105,700 annuallyShift: Full-TimeLocation: Alsip, ILJob Duties and ResponsibilitiesServe as the technical resource for product quality, plant reliability, cost management, and health, environmental, and safety (HES) performance within a batch manufacturing environment.Monitor, analyze, and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), including tracking performance metrics and implementing process improvements.Coordinate new product scale-up activities and support successful commercialization through recipe implementation and manufacturing readiness.Maintain and update plant recipes, batch operating procedures, and process documentation while ensuring Management of Change (MOC) requirements are followed.Lead troubleshooting efforts, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions for process and quality issues.Provide technical support for daily production activities to help achieve safety, quality, production, and cost objectives.Support and maintain the DeltaV process control system and assist with process optimization, commissioning, startup activities, and control loop tuning.Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), incident investigations, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), and other safety initiatives while promoting continuous improvement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, automation, research, and management to drive operational excellence and process improvements.Education RequirementsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (required)Minimum of 2 years of experience in chemical manufacturingSix Sigma experience preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Experience with DeltaV process control systems preferredKnowledge of emulsion polymerization manufacturing processes preferredExperience supporting new product scale-up from laboratory to commercial production preferredUnderstanding of acrylic monomer handling and related process safety practices preferredFamiliarity with Process Safety methodologies, including Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA)Experience performing root cause investigations and implementing corrective actionsFamiliarity with IP-21 or similar process data historian systemsKnowledge of HES compliance, plant reliability, product quality, and cost management principlesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated leadership abilities with a commitment to continuous improvement and cross-functional collaborationIf you are interested, please apply.
