Production Associate / Production Equipment Operator - 2nd Shift - $20/hrThis full-time Production Associate / Production Equipment Operator role supports a steel manufacturing facility in Dunkirk, NY on second shift. You operate production equipment, handle steel materials, and perform quality inspections while following strict safety procedures and supporting a clean, organized work area. The position offers structured wage progression, day-one benefits, paid on-the-job training, and long-term career growth for dependable individuals who are ready to learn and contribute in a fast-paced industrial environment.ResponsibilitiesSafely operate production equipment and machinery in a heavy industrial setting.Load, unload, and move steel materials and products throughout the facility using appropriate material handling methods.Perform quality inspections using measuring tools and equipment to ensure products meet specifications.Follow production schedules, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to meet output and quality targets.Support and maintain 5S workplace organization, including keeping work areas clean, orderly, and free of hazards.Assist with basic machine setup and equipment support as directed.Perform preventive maintenance tasks and housekeeping duties to keep equipment and workstations in safe operating condition.Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and comply with all safety rules and policies.Demonstrate dependable attendance and be available to work overtime and weekends as needed.Participate in company-provided training programs to build skills and support continuous improvement.Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to maintain smooth production flow.Essential SkillsAbility to safely operate production equipment and machinery in an industrial environment.Experience or aptitude in material handling, including loading and unloading steel products.Ability to perform quality inspections using measuring tools and basic inspection equipment.Strong commitment to workplace safety and consistent use of required PPE.Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.Ability to follow production schedules, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.Capability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for the duration of the shift.Comfort working in a heavy industrial environment with varying temperatures.Willingness to participate in company-provided training programs and follow coaching and feedback.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Previous manufacturing, production, industrial, or general labor experience is a plus.Experience with machine operation, machine setup, and basic equipment support is beneficial.Experience in assembly or machine operating is an advantage.Familiarity with preventive maintenance and routine equipment care is helpful.Experience with 5S workplace organization, safety compliance, and teamwork in a production environment.Ability to perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work area.Why Work Here?You join a stable manufacturing operation that offers strong wages, day-one medical, dental, and vision benefits, and structured wage progression tied to clear milestones.
