Production AssociateThis role supports a fast-paced manufacturing operation that produces carbon used in water filtration systems. As a Production Associate, you handle bulk materials, operate equipment, and perform general labor tasks to ensure smooth and efficient production. You work with a variety of processes, including measuring product, shoveling carbon into bags, and maintaining a clean and safe work area, while adapting quickly to changing production needs.ResponsibilitiesHandle bulk materials throughout the production process, including moving product and supplies safely and efficiently.Pack and shovel carbon into bags, ensuring accurate fill levels and proper sealing for shipment or further processing.Measure product accurately to meet quality and production specifications.Perform miscellaneous labor tasks such as cleaning work areas, mixing materials, and supporting batch making activities.Operate production and material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and other machinery, in a safe and efficient manner.Assist with machine operation, monitoring equipment during production and reporting any issues promptly.Maintain general housekeeping standards by keeping the work environment clean, organized, and free of hazards.Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operating practices.Adapt to fast-paced production demands and changing priorities while maintaining quality and safety standards.Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement.Essential SkillsPrevious manufacturing or production experience.Demonstrated good job history with consistent and reliable work performance.Strong work ethic and positive attitude toward learning and teamwork.Ability to perform material handling tasks, including moving bulk materials and using pallet jacks.Capability to shovel and pack materials into bags repeatedly during a shift.Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and adapting quickly to changes in production demands.Ability to lift up to approximately 30 pounds on a regular basis.Willingness to perform general housekeeping and cleaning tasks as part of daily responsibilities.Readiness to work in a dirty environment due to the carbon process and to get physically dirty on the job.Commitment to working safely and following established safety procedures.Additional Skills & QualificationsForklift experience is a plus.Experience with material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.Experience in batch making, mixing, or assembly work in a manufacturing setting.Exposure to machine operation or mechanical tasks in a production environment.Flexibility to work different shifts, including 1st shift (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) and 2nd shift (2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m.), Monday through Friday.Why Work Here?You join a stable organization with very low turnover, reflecting a positive and supportive workplace culture. The work environment can be dirty due to the carbon process, and temperatures may be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Despite these conditions, the facility is kept very clean and well maintained, with a strong emphasis on safety and proper operation of equipment. The position involves fast-paced, hands-on work with material handling, mixing, and machine operation, and requires comfort with getting dirty as part of daily tasks. Standard schedules include 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 2nd shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbus, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
