You will assist the Operator and Assistant Operator with equipment setup, machine adjustments, and operation needed to produce corrugated boxes that meet customer specifications.Starting Pay: $20.93/hour2nd Shift 2pm-10pm & 3rd Shift 11pm-7amHow you will impact Smurfit Westrock:Apply required safety instruction, including lockout/tagout, PPE use (hearing protection and safety shoes), awareness of moving machinery, nip points, stop buttons, conveyor safety, and proper lifting/pushing/pulling techniques.Use guards, gates, and chains correctly and consistently.Maintain strong housekeeping standards through daily cleanup, trash removal, downtime cleaning, adherence to the Safety Manual cleaning schedule, and consistent scrap removal.Read and use Factory Orders and Print Cards to determine correct machine settings.Assist in equipment setup, including:Setting stackerInstalling dies, attachments, and printing platesSetting pull rolls, collars, straps, scores, heads, and blade combinationsSetting Prefeeder and Lead Edge FeederAdjusting pressures and registerOperating glue and ink systemsSetting folding rails, squaring section, and ejectorPerform required quality checks such as first piece dimensional & print checks, in run inspections, ink color/viscosity checks, and first piece box fold completion.Shut the machine down and notify a supervisor immediately if any major issue occurs.Communicate effectively using interrupt buttons, verbal communication, and hand signals.What you need to succeed:Ability to read and interpret basic instructions, safety requirements, and Factory Orders.Ability to perform basic math.Ability to accurately read a tape measure.Mechanical aptitude to assist with machine setup and observe proper equipment operation.Understanding of safe work practices in a manufacturing environment, including PPE use and awareness of moving equipment.Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift as required.What we offer:Health Benefits coverage begins on the first day of the month following 30 days of employment.1 week of PTO in first year (up to 40 hours, prorated)10 Holidays and 2 personal floating holidaysA safety ? focused, team ? oriented manufacturing environment.Hands ?
