Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for GitHub Copilot, including access, configuration, IDE integrations, integrations, and troubleshooting.
- Promote and advocate for effective adoption of AI coding assistants across the developer community.
- Create and maintain reusable prompts, skills, instructions, agents, templates, scripts, and technical resources.
- Help developers use AI assistants throughout the SDLC, including planning, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, code review, and modernization.
- Support administration of coding-assistant platforms, including licensing, access, policies, configuration, and feature enablement.
- Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, IDE extensions, CLI tools, APIs, network connectivity, configuration, context issues, and unexpected AI behavior.
- Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate escalations with platform teams, security teams, vendors, and GitHub support.
- Develop technical content using Markdown, YAML, JSON, scripts, and automation.
- Establish governance, contribution, testing, review, release, and documentation practices for shared AI-development resources.
- Consult with developers on prompt/context design, repository instructions, custom skills, agents, integrations, architecture, and AI-generated code.
- Develop onboarding materials, demonstrations, troubleshooting guides, FAQs, and knowledge articles.
- Conduct developer training, workshops, demonstrations, office hours, and targeted coaching.
- Promote secure and responsible AI usage, including confidentiality, intellectual property, secure coding, human review, testing, traceability, and compliance.
- Evaluate new AI coding-assistant features, models, integrations, and platforms.
- Monitor adoption, platform health, support trends, and user feedback and recommend improvements.
- Strong professional software development experience.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot or another AI coding assistant.
- Strong knowledge of GitHub, Git, repositories, pull requests, code review, permissions, policies, and CI/CD.
- Advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience with IDEs such as Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code.
- Strong knowledge of C#, .NET / .NET Core / .NET Framework.
- Experience with Angular, Blazor, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS is preferred.
- Knowledge of REST APIs, service-oriented architecture, ORM technologies, SQL, and relational databases.
- Experience with Azure cloud technologies, preferably Azure Functions, Databricks, and Azure Cognitive Services.
- Knowledge of Markdown, YAML, JSON, scripting, and automation.
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, algorithms, secure coding, testing, maintainability, and code quality.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum, SDLC, source control, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Ability to evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, maintainability, and architectural fit.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
- 10+ years of experience applying technology, tools, and techniques to create new products or improve existing solutions.
- Significant experience in software development, developer tooling, application support, platform administration, DevOps, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience supporting secure enterprise-grade applications, preferably within the Microsoft technology stack.
- GitHub Copilot, GitHub administration, developer enablement, or enterprise AI adoption experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Azure and Agile/Scrum environments is preferred.
- Experience creating reusable technical assets and technical documentation is preferred.
- Experience providing developer training, technical consulting, office hours, or adoption initiatives is preferred.
