Product Line Manager, Mountain EssentialsScope: Individual Contributor, P3Location: Ventura, CA (Hybrid)As the Product Line Manager for the Mountain Essentials category, you will leverage your understanding of the brand, business, and marketplace to develop and deliver a globally relevant product line that drives responsible growth—balancing revenue and margin with environmental impact.You will translate insights from the Mountain Essentials consumer, competitive landscape, and evolving market trends into a strategic assortment of durable, functional, and purpose-driven products. Working cross-functionally with design, development, and marketing, you will lead the seasonal product creation process—ensuring that product intent is clear, execution is aligned, and the final line reflects both craft and conviction.Your role is critical in shaping product that not only meets the needs of our global customers, but also reinforces Patagonia's commitment to building the best product while causing no unnecessary harm.What You'll DoDeliver a globally relevant Mountain Essentials product line that meets revenue, gross margin, and market share goals while aligning to brand and environmental objectivesLead the cross-functional product team through the seasonal Go-To-Market process, driving workflow, priorities, and executionDevelop and communicate product briefs to design, development, and marketing teamsMaintain deep understanding of product, competitor, market, and consumer insights within Mountain EssentialsOwn and manage the Mountain Essentials line plan, including assortment, pricing, and product details within PLM systems and toolsPartner with design and development to ensure products meet consumer needs, deliver on intent, and achieve cost and margin targetsDrive product creation in alignment with brand design principles and Mountain Essentials consumer needsBuild strong cross-functional relationships and enable teams to execute effectivelyLead presentations and discussions with global sales channels, buyers, and key partners to inform product directionCreate and deliver compelling product storytelling at global line reviews and sales meetingsDevelop and manage content strategy for sales and marketing tools to support seasonal launchesWho You AreLeader — drives alignment and delivers results across cross-functional teamsStrategic & Tactical — translates Mountain Essentials insights into actionable product directionInfluential — effectively communicates and builds alignment across stakeholdersCollaborative — builds strong partnerships across teams and regionsAnalytical — uses data and insights to inform decisions and drive performanceCurious — deeply engaged in the Mountain Essentials market and innovation landscapeResilient — able to navigate complexity, ambiguity, and competing prioritiesMission-Aligned — integrates purpose and environmental impact into decision-makingExperience You Bring5+ years of experience in product management, merchandising, marketing, or related fieldExperience owning a product line or business segment (preferably within Mountain Essentials or adjacent market)Demonstrate understanding of, curiosity about, or connection to the climbing and mountain community, with the ability to translate consumer insights into meaningful product decisions.Strong understanding of product development, assortment planning, and go-to-market processesExperience analyzing market trends, competitor products, and consumer insightsProven ability to deliver against financial and business targetsStrong communication and presentation skillsExperience working cross-functionally to deliver complex initiativesExperience with PLM systems and product lifecycle toolsHiring Range: $110,000-$115,000 USD AnnualAt Patagonia, pay ranges are assigned to a job based on the location specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.Patagonia offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, retirement and leave of absence plans.

Benefit plans may vary slightly depending on the nature of your employment.This position is Hybrid, with a standard schedule of Tuesday - Thursday on-site and remote work on other days.
